HSS is now starting into its 26th year of operation! We have exciting plans for the year, including an exchange with students from the Suzuki String School of Guelph in Nov of 2009, and Mar of 2010, our annual "Sound of Goderich" concerts in Dec and May, our student recitals in Feb and Mar, and our annual full concerts in Dec and June. Our webmaster, Alex Ivanov, has created our website on a blogging spot, to better serve HSS with ease of entering data, and, since it is free, it saves us webhosting fees each year. Our teacher/Director, Elayne, is off to conferences in Boston, Ottawa, and Minneapolis this year, plus she has been invited to be a clinician at workshops in Hamilton and Guelph, as well as adjudicating for Brantford's Kiwanis Music Festival in April. She is also performing with the newly renamed "Stratford Symphony Orchestra", a link to which occurs on our "Links" page. Our Theory teacher, Jo-Ann, is still commuting to Toronto weekly to teach music and drama to young children with special needs, and continues to teach our youngest students the basic Theory skills that they will need to be able to play in orchestra. It will certainly be another amazing year, with the dedicated students and parents of HSS committed to further developing excellence in their musical, artistic, scholastic, and personal lives. It is a pleasure to work with the families of HSS, and we look forward to the year with great excitement!

Well, we've had an incredible fall season, topped off
magnificently by our performance of "The Sensei of Oz" in
December, and the Orchestra's stunningly wonderful
performance at the Sound of Goderich concert! See the new
gallery of pics on this site, which highlight the "Sensei"
concert, plus performances for the Seniors' luncheon at the
MacKay Centre and at Goderich Place Seniors' residence.
Thanks again to everyone for their dedication, committment,
and hard work! The fun we have with our violins, the joy in
performing that our students experience, (and the joy that it
gives our audiences!), is all directly attributable to the
daily "grind" of working on and achieving your weekly
assignments. Thanks also go to Alex Ivanov, who created our
incredible website, is continuing to host it, and who is
maintaining it for us. Here are some dates to be aware of for
our New Year and season:

Waterloo.

Oct 2007: About Our
New Website |
|
|
It's official, and exciting...here is the new HSS website!!
It was created by Alex Ivanov, to
whom we owe a big debt of gratitude. He not only created the
site, but is “hosting” it on his website. He will
also act as our webmaster, which is very generous. We are
excited to offer info and schedules, and will keep this news
page up to date with anything that needs to be shared with
our HSS families. See also the links page for other Suzuki
sites to visit, and if you need to contact Elayne, you can
also do it through this website on the “Contact”
page. Happy surfing! Elayne.
